Some History

In 1993, Can Am RV began as a RV dealership operating out of a leased garage in Shakopee, MN and started on a shoestring. One service bay and a couple of offices on less than an acre of land served as the base of operations. The dealership’s focus was to provide premium rental RV’s to the public. With close attention to detail the location began to thrive.

Not surprisingly, the Minnesota location grew quickly and it became apparent that more space was needed. In May of 2001 Can Am RV moved from Shakopee to Jordan. On Highway 169 S. on over 3 acres, the state-of-the-art facility has become the largest RV rental business in the state.

Furthering our growth, Can Am RV opened a location in Seattle, Washington. Following the same plan that resulted in the success of the Minnesota location, the location started small with operations taking place on an old used car lot. We hired a fantastic local management team who did a great job of following the Can Am plan. Their entrepreneurial spirit led them to express a desire to own the business. As a result, we sold the dealership to them in 2006.

During this time our Winnipeg location continued to grow, although more modestly, and by 2004 the decision was made to build a bigger dealership. After much searching the perfect piece of land came available. At nine acres, the lot would allow Can Am RV to create the kind of dealership it couldn’t be in the old location.

Opened in August of 2005, this facility has oversized service bays, an indoor showroom and a burgeoning parts department. We’ve grown from a full-time staff of 5 to 17 in a year-and-a-half and our sales have skyrocketed.

So why has Can Am RV been so successful? Because helping every customer have a great RV experience has been our No. 1 goal since 1983!
